About Dr Paul McManus

I believe that every person has the capacity to grow, adapt and become more than they ever thought possible. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you as you discover the confidence, clarity and resilience to navigate it with greater purpose.

Like many people, my own life has been shaped by both joy and adversity. I am a father to two wonderful boys, a partner, a brother, and someone who understands that life can challenge us in ways we never expected. Those experiences, together with decades of personal development, leadership, research and coaching, have shaped not only who I am, but also the way I work with others.

For more than twenty years I have led teams, supported colleagues and mentored people from all walks of life. As a university lecturer, researcher and coach, I have had the privilege of working with students, professionals, leaders and individuals seeking a new direction. Although every person’s story is different, one thing remains constant: people flourish when they feel understood, supported and empowered to move forward.

I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in knowledge sharing and organisational behaviour, am an accredited life coach, and have dedicated my career to understanding how people learn, grow and realise their potential. I also have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including autistic adults and people with ADHD and dyspraxia, helping them recognise their unique strengths, build confidence, and navigate life in ways that work for them rather than against them.

My coaching brings together academic research with genuine human connection, creating a practical, evidence-informed approach that is tailored to the individual rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.

This philosophy has evolved into what I call Journeys of Becoming—the belief that meaningful change is not about becoming someone different, but about becoming more fully the person you are capable of becoming. Whether you are navigating personal challenges, workplace pressures, leadership responsibilities or major life decisions, my commitment is to provide a safe, confidential and supportive space in which you can reflect, grow and move forward with confidence.

Understanding the past, being fully present, and intentionally creating the future is central to my approach. I look forward to walking that journey with you.

My story

I am a Certified Life Coach from IAPC&M and Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor from ITEC who has practised meditation, mindfulness and relaxation for over 20-years. I have found ways to calm the spirit and rejuvenate the mind. I came to the realisation that the one of the core ‘exercises’ is that of grounding the mind and rewiring how we view our reality. I found that a persons sense of wellbeing played a critical role in their ability to navigate the challenges of life, as such I use an intuitive, ontological approach based on pre-conceptions and individual interpretation and understanding which ultimately drives the client success

I have motivated countless students, employees and managers amongst others to flourish to their full potential. I enable those around me to achieve more than they ever thought possible. This is achieved by knowing that everyone has a purpose in life, can make a difference but most of show people that they matter.

Like you I have had challenges in my life. I have suffered from moments of self-doubt, anxiety and lacked the confidence to truly succeed. But what is true success? It is not necessarily how much you earn or where you stand on the ladder of business, it is much more than that, it is being your true self, it is being a good partner, sibling, father or mother. I know this and know you can too.

Over the past 2 decades I have become what could be considered an expert in how to become more resilient and strong in a world that sometimes feels as though it is moving too quickly. “Life is hard”, this is true to a certain extent but I also know that:

Life is only as hard as you allow it to be – this is the true way of understanding.
